Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel will host a conference on "Bulgaria's Foreign Policy Strategy: Challenges and Opportunities" in Sofia on December 4, the Foreign Ministry said.
The development and adoption of a national strategy for Bulgaria's foreign policy will have added value amid a dynamic international and regional environment, constantly emerging conflicts and a growing threat of hybrid attacks and disinformation.
The conference was initiated by Gabriel, who has suggested that a series of discussions be held, her Ministry said.
Gabriel has stressed the need to discuss the parameters of the clear priorities in Bulgarian politics, including active membership in the EU and NATO, participation in strategic and regional partnerships, work with Bulgarians abroad and the role of cultural diplomacy.
Monday's conference is the opening event with the participation of National Assembly Chairman Rosen Zhelyazkov, Prof Velizar Shalamanov, Deputy Director of the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, EU Policies Professor Ingrid Shikova, academics, experts and journalists.
