site.btaSofia Mayor Terziev Invites Leaders of Parties in Municipal Council to Meeting in Bid to Try to Find Common Priorities

Sofia's new mayor Vassil Terziev has invited the leaders of the political forces in the Municipal Council to a meeting to discuss the shared priorities and how to get the Municipal Council working.

At its maiden sitting on November 13, the municipal councilors failed to elect their leader when none of the candidates succeeded the attract the required number of votes. The front-runner in the race was Boris Bonev, the nominee of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria and Save Sofia, which is the largest group in the local parliament.  

The meetings will be held November 20 before the meeting of the Municipal Council.

On the agenda will be policies and the 2024 budget of the municipality.

In the morning show of bTV Friday, GERB floor leader Dessislava Atanassova said it is not yet clear whether her party leader Boyko Borissov will be attending. She reconfirmed her party position that they are not going to back Boris Bonev.
