Atanas Atanasov, co-floor leader of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) and leader of Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria, told journalists on Friday during a CC-DB press conference in Sofia on the occasion of claims that the upcoming local elections are compromised, that GERB is losing the local elections in Sofia and in other cities and they came up with these "fake news" together with the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF).
The press conference was held following a an extraordinary meeting of Parliament’s Presiding Body, where a report came from the State Agency for National Security (SANS), which says that two days after the Central Election Commission made public the generation of a hash code, guaranteeing machine voting security, Deputy Electronic Governance Minister Mihail Stoynov took a photo of the code, compromising the security of the machine vote.
Atanasov urged people to vote on Sunday and not fall for fake news.
He questioned the credibility of the SANS report, stressing that it was signed by the institution's deputy chair and not the head.
