The subcommittee for control of European funds will become its own parliamentary committee on Thursday, GERB leader Boyko Borissov told journalists in Parliament. The committee will prepare criteria for companies that will apply under Territorial Just Transition Plans (TJTPs) in the coal regions.
Borissov spoke with Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and with Continue the Change Co-chair Kiril Petkov, after on Wednesday MPs from GERB-UDF expressed concerns regarding the TJTPs for the districts of Stara Zagora, Pernik and Kyustendil. They urged the government to change the plans as quickly as possible and expressed concern that companies close to Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria will benefit from the European money.
Borissov said that Denkov accepted GERB's concerns and assured them that they will be discussed on Friday at the Council of Ministers.
