Offices of Bulgarian Posts Plc will provide electronic administrative services to the residents of small population centres which have no administrative offices, the government decided on Wednesday. Through its branches, Bulgarian Posts will provide comprehensive services in settlements where the central, regional and local administration do not have a sufficient number of offices or no offices at all.

The initial investments and improvements in the ICT infrastructure of Bulgarian Posts will result in 2,000 workstations with software with a high level of cyber protection.

The government decided that the post offices will also give access to basic telemedicine services, which are included in the package provided by general practitioners, mainly focusing on disease prevention and the monitoring of persons with diagnosed diseases and prescribed long-term maintenance treatment. The services include remote counselling for a new or existing health problem, as well as using telediagnostic and telemonitoring equipment to record various vital signs of patients with chronic diseases.

Bulgarian Post staff will assist and technically support patients in the use of telediagnostic and telemonitoring equipment. This will facilitate access to basic health care services for people in small and remote settlements.
