Petar Mitsin recorded the best time out of 61 competitors during the qualifying series for the men's 400m freestyle final of the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Netanya, Israel, on Monday.

The world junior record holder in this discipline finished first in the series with 3:50.52.

Italy's Alessandro Ragaini finished second with 3:50.65 and Canada's Lorne Wigginton was third with 3:50.71.

The final will take place on Monday at 6:02 p.m.
