The prices of some basic foodstuffs, fruits and vegetables on the stock exchanges in the country remained almost unchanged during the week, the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Wholesale Markets said. The base level of 1 point was set in 2005.

The price of imported cucumbers increased by 12.7% to BGN 2.67 per kilogram. Greenhouse cucumbers went up by 5% to BGN 2.91/kg. Greenhouse tomatoes went up by 11,7% to BGN 2.58/kg, green peppers went doen by 13.5% to BGN 2.05 per kilogram.

Potatoes increased in price by 2.7% to BGN 1.05 per kilogram. The price of carrots went down by 1% to BGN 1.18 per kilogram, and that of ripe onions - by 3.1% to BGN 1.14 per kilogram. Cabbage recorded an increase of 14.4% to BGN 0.92 per kilogram.

The price of lemons went up by 4.2% to BGN 3.10 per kilogram, and bananas decresed in price by 0.7% to BGN 2.69 per kilogram. Peaches went down in price by 3.3% to BGN 2.35 per kilogram, while apricots increased in price by 5.6% to BGN 3.03 per kilogram. The price of watermelons decreased by 13.4%  to BGN 0.66 per kilogram.

The average wholesale price of white brined cheese from cow's milk went down by 0.1% to BGN 10.88/kg and the price of yellow kashkaval cheese of the Vitosha type, decreased by 0.4% to BGN 17.05/kg.

The price of yoghurt (with a fat content of 3% and over) increased by 3.4% to BGN 1.23 for a cup of 400 grammes. the price of fresh milk (with a fat content of 3%) went up by 1.2% to BGN 2.27 per litre.

Chicken decreased in price by 2.8% to BGN 6.23/kg, while the average wholesale price of eggs (size M) increased in price by 2.8% to  BGN 0.29 per piece.
The price of rice increased by 1% to BGN 3.34/kg, while that of lentils went up by 0.8% to BGN 4.40/kg. The price of dry common beans increased by 2.9% to BGN 4,35/kg.

Sugar deppreciated by 0.5% to BGN 2.01/kg. Sunflower oil was selling at BGN 2.79 per litre, up by 2.6% from the last week of June. The price of flour (type 500) increased by 4.3% to BGN 1.31/kg, while butter from cow’s milk appreciated by 1.9% to BGN 2.67 for a pack of 125 grammes.
