Bulgaria’s Rami Kiwan was eliminated in the men's 71 kg quarterfinal boxing match at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday.

The 24-year-old 2024 European Boxing Championships gold medallist lost to Omari Jones (US) by 0-5 (27-30, 27-30, 27-30, 27-30, 27-30). The athletes used a similar style of boxing, keeping good distance and attempting counterattacks. Jones proved to be a bit more precise and claimed the three rounds on all five judges' cards.

Four of the five Bulgarian competitors in the Olympic boxing tournament in Paris made it to the quarterfinals.

Stanimira Petrova lost to China's Yuan Chang in the women’s 54 kg quarterfinals on Friday. On Saturday, Javier Ibanez Diaz defeated Japan’s Shudai Harada in the men’s 57 kg quarterfinal on Saturday evening, securing at least a bronze medal for Bulgaria. Svetlana Kamenova lost to top-seeded boxer and Asian Games champion Lin Yu-ting from Taiwan on Sunday.

Radoslav Rosenov was defeated by Canada’s Wyatt Sanford in their 63.5 kg preliminary match on July 29.
