The Ukrainian city of Odesa and the region were attacked by missiles and drones in the early hours after midnight on Satursday, local channels reported in the Telegram application.
An air alert was announced at 1:20 am Loud explosions were heard in and around the city for nearly an hour.
All citizens must remain in shelters until the alarm is lifted, regional authorities warned.
Odesa Province is home to the third largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to an official population census in Ukraine in 2001. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the provincial capital, Odesa. Bulgarians in the province are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
