The Education Ministry and the National Student Parliament will cooperate to reduce aggression at schools. This was agreed at a meeting between Education Minister Galin Tsokov and the leadership of the student organization, the Education Ministry said.
Tsokov said that a number of studies confirm the efficiency of the organization for school self-government and their positive effects on limiting aggression.
A review will be carried out of bylaws in order to promote these organizations.
A total of 198 organizations applied in the first competition of the Education Ministry for the best student initiative it emerged at the meeting. “We want to develop this initiative and we rely on suggestions from you,” said the Minister to the representatives of the Student Parliament.
The Education Ministry will take part in a national forum which will present good practices in the work of student councils. Minister Tsokov invited a representative of the school organization to take part for the
first time in a national meeting on the preparations of the new school year. He voiced hope that this will become an established tradition with time.
Participating in the meeting were Deputy Ministers of Education Emilia Lazarova and Natalia Miteva, and Kristiyan Angelov, Hristo Malchev, Elena Ivanova, Yohan Georgiev and Dimiter Ferdinandov of the National Student Parliament.
