"We've shown how we build infrastructure, but from now on we have to work with the local authorities to have investment and jobs in our municipalities and settlements so that our children do not emigrate," Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) leader Mustafa Karadayi said in a message to the mayors of the party during the celebration of the village of Borino, quoted by MRF's press centre.

"We give an example and a model with the local government, where the MRF governs, how the philosophy of togetherness is put into practice. This is how we will continue," Karadayi said. "This happened thanks to the Bulgarian ethnic model, whose architect is Dr Ahmed Dogan. Thanks to the philosophy of this model, based on tolerance and unity, Bulgaria became a member of NATO and the EU," Karadayi said.

He recalled that Bulgaria remained the only Balkan country that made a peaceful transition from communism to democracy.

He voiced regret that in recent times the politics of opposition, division and hatred has prevailed over tolerance and unity. According to Karadayi, the MRF will continue to stand by the philosophy based on tolerance and unity "in order to reach that situation in which all ethnic groups and minorities in Bulgaria will be truly equal". He added that recently we have witnessed "fake politicians" who are again trying to preach the philosophy that one identity is better than another.

Hundreds of local residents and visitors celebrated the local holiday of Borino. Attending were MRF members, Turkiye's Consul General in Plovdiv Korhan Kungeru, dozens of mayors from the region and the country.

At the end of July, the MRF's Central Council held a meeting to begin preparations for the local elections in the autumn. The party said they're starting the procedure to nominate mayors and municipal councilors across the country. "We did an analysis of the current political situation by regions. we adopted criteria for the nominations of MRF candidates, we confirmed the procedures under which we'll select our mayoral candidates and municipal councillors," said Karadayi after the meeting.
