The Sofia Appellate Court found nationalist Boyan Stankov, better known as Boyan Rasate, guilty for breaking into the office of a LGBTQ centre, the court said on Tuesday.

Boyan Stankov was sentenced to six months on probation and is required to register his current address. He was convicted of hooliganism in a public place and causing minor bodily harm.

Stankov was also given a public reprimand, to be made public through the press, and owes a compensation of BGN 2,000 to LGBT activist Gloria Filipova for causing her non-pecuniary damage.

Stankov’s assault took place in October 2021.

The Sofia Appellate Court’s decision is subject to appeal before the Supreme Court of Cassation.
