President Rumen Radev will hand the first exploratory mandate to form a government to the prime minister designate, nominated by the largest parliamentary group in the 49th National Assembly, GERB-UDF, said the press office of the head of State.
The mandate will be handed over at 3 pm.
On May 10, GERB leader Boyko Borissov announced that the party's nomination for Prime Minister will be the current European Commissioner Mariya Gabriel. A day later, she started meetings with the parliamentary parties.
GERB-UDF prime minister designate Mariya Gabriel said at a briefing at the party's headquarters on Sunday that on Monday morning she intends to propose that talks continue on the formation of an expert government, with a one-year term, based on common priorities.
On Monday, Gabriel and GERB leader Boyko Borissov will meet with the leaderships of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and There Is Such a People, said the FERB press centre.
