Bulgarian Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska is in Paris to take part in the Ministerial Forum for Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region (IPR), the Foreign Ministry said in a press release here on Tuesday.

The meeting is organized by France within its EU Presidency and it will bring together Foreign Ministers of EU member states and some 30 countries in the IPR, representatives of European institutions and representatives of the main regional organizations.

The forum aims to encourage a balanced dialogue between the European and Indo-Pacific partners.

The discussion will be focused on the strategic challenges of the cooperation with the IPR. It will prioritize three topics – security and defence, connectivity and digital technologies, and global challenges.

The partnership with IPR is of key importance to the European Union as IPR’s significance of global economy and policy is growing, and its effect on EU security and stability is increasing as well.
