58 Air Ambulance Missions Carried Out from June 2024 to March 2025, Five-month-old Baby Youngest Patient Transported

A total of 58 air ambulance missions were carried out between June 2024 and March this year, the Air Emergency Medical Assistance Center reported on its Facebook profile. A total of 16 missions were carried out, all of which with the most severe triage category for emergency from the beginning of 2025 to March 21, 2025.

Out of them 14 were secondary hospital-to-hospital missions. Two missions were primary - from the scene of the incident to a medical facility with the necessary level of competence. The predominant pathology of the victims is traffic accident-related trauma, fall-related injuries, work accidents, etc.

The youngest patient transported by air was a five-month-old baby, and the oldest - 74 years old.

All missions have been successful, thanks to the coordination and joint efforts of all participants in the process - Bulgaria Heli Med Service, the emergency medical centers, the hospitals and the teams working in them.

The first medical helicopter in the country was presented on February 2, 2024, and the second - on February 28, 2025. By the end of March, a third helicopter for providing emergency air assistance is expected to arrive in Bulgaria.
