site.bta4.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Southeast Turkiye
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 rocked southeastern Turkiye on Friday. The earthquake was registered in the town of Dogansehir (Malatya County) at 10:46 am local time (9:46 am Bulgarian time), the Turkish government's Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) said.
The epicentre of the earthquake was at a depth of 7 kilometres. The earthquake caused panic among the people.
At this stage, there is no information about injured people and damage caused.
Malatya was among the hard-hit districts in the devastating 7.6 and 7.7 magnitude earthquakes on February 6 2023, which killed over 53,000 people.
