A total of 195 reinforced concrete panels, each measuring 2.48 metres by 4.40 metres and weighing 5.6 tonnes, have been manufactured since the start of the major repair of the Giurgiu-Ruse Bridge crossing the Danube, the Road Infrastructure Agency said. The operation, which began on July 10, 2024, affects a stretch of more than 400 m of the lane leading to Bulgaria. The construction works are being carried out according to schedule.

Over the last week, 24 panels have been removed or a total of 174 since the works began. Twenty-two new panels have been installed, bringing the total to 155. Work is underway on the restoration of 413 metres of pedestrian railing and 12 lighting poles.

The construction works are being carried out without stopping traffic, and the facility will not be closed. The work process is conducted so that vehicles can pass in stages.
