site.btaBorder Traffic Update
Traffic is intense at some of the border crossing checkpoints with Romania, Greece, Serbia and Turkiye on Friday morning, Border Police said.
On the border with Romania, traffic is intense at the checkpoints Vidin, Kardam, Durankulak, Oryahovo, Nikopol and Ruse at the exit for trucks. Due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse, traffic is temporarily reorganized in one lane, regulated by traffic lights. In addition to Ruse, drivers in the region can also head to the checkpoints Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kainardzha and Krushari. The last two are open from 8 am to 8 pm every day and no trucks are allowed through them.
On the border with Greece, traffic is heavy in both directions at Kulata. In view of the significantly increased number of Romanian tourists travelling to and from Greece passing through the Kulata and Makaza, travellers are advised to use alternative crossing points at the Bulgarian-Greek border, which are less congested and allow faster crossing. Only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the border crossing points Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad.
On the border with Serbia, traffic is intense at Kalotina. On the border with Turkiye, traffic is intense at Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo.
Traffic is normal at all border crossing points on the border with North Macedonia.
