MRF - New Beginning will continue to support and defend the right of every person to speak and learn their mother tongue because “we are confident that this is the path to mutual respect and ethnic tolerance. We believe that linguistic diversity is a wealth that should be valued and protected,” said MP Hyusein Hafazov in a statement on behalf of the parliamentary group of MRF - New Beginning on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day, declared by UNESCO in 1999, dedicated to the preservation and promotion of linguistic diversity.

"This day reminds us of the importance of language as a means of expression, a part of cultural identity and a link between generations," Hafazov said, adding that language has the power to unite and inspire. “It helps us preserve our national and ethnic essence, contributing to socio-cultural exchange and integration. In Bulgaria, along with the official literary Bulgarian language, the languages of the different ethnic groups are spoken in our homes and families,” he added.  

The declaration also says that language is an integral part of cultural dialogue that enriches and strengthens society, and maintaining linguistic diversity is key to social justice and equality.
