Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh, who spoke before the Parliamentary Committee on Tourism here on Thursday, said that he has positive expectations for the summer tourist season, pointing out that there is an increase in advance bookings. He reported that the increased percentage correlation compared to previous years is excellent and expressed his hopefulness that this year's results will be significantly better compared even to the pre-COVID 2019.
The Minister said that Bulgaria's mountain resorts can benefit from good advertising and marketing over the summer. He added: "Mountain resorts expect support and will receive it so that the results of 2025 are significantly better than the previous ones."
Responding to an MP's question on VAT rate in tourism, Borshosh said that differential rates in the sector are a good solution. "We would support it, if that is the legislature's decision," he added.
