Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu reached an agreement with farmers and hauliers to end their protests. The two sides held a meeting at the Government building in Victory Square in Bucharest, the government press office said on Friday.

The agreement signed provides for the establishment of an inter-ministerial committee on Monday, 5 February, to analyze and find the best solutions for the protesters' demands.

The commission will be made up of ministerial representatives, farmers, and hauliers.

The aim of the committee is to resolve the protesters’ complaints and to draw up concrete proposals for solutions.
