site.btaParliament Chair Zhelyazkov Heads Bulgarian Delegation to Zograf Monastery in Mount Athos

A Bulgarian delegation, led by Parliament Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov, is on a traditional visit the Saint George the Zograf Monastery (Zograf Monastery) in Mount Athos, Parliament's press centre said Wednesday.

Zhelyazkov and the delegation he leads will meet with the leadership of Mount Athos in Karyes. Later they will visit the Bulgarian Zograf Monastery. The Bulgarian Parliament Chair and MPs will talk to the monastic brotherhood and then tour the Monastery and its library. Zhelyazkov is scheduled to return to Bulgaria later in the day, while the MPs stay and attend the evening service and the evening vigil at the Monastery.

On November 16, the MPs will participate in the solemn service on the occasion of the Monastery's feast day and will join the procession with the miraculous icon of St. George.

The delegation includes Parliament's Deputy Chair and Vazrazhdane MP Tsoncho Ganev, the chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and GERB-UDF MP Radomir Cholakov, Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria MP Hristo Daskalov, Socialst MP Rumen Gechev, There Is Such a People MP Stanislav Bogdanski and Tihomir Stoychev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
