This country appreciates German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's support for Bulgaria becoming a member of the Schengen Area, caretaker Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds Atanas Pekanov posted on Twitter. Pekanov described Scholz's approval as an "important validation that Bulgaria has met all the requirements and [is] ready to join". "Europe is our future," Pekanov concluded.
