Bulgarian Citizens in US Advised to Postpone Travel around Kentucky due to Floods

A state of emergency has been declared in the US state of Kentucky due to heavy rainfall that has caused flooding in the western part of the state, the Crisis Centre of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on its website on Sunday. Bulgarian citizens in the US are advised to strictly observe the travel bans in place, follow the instructions of local authorities in the country, plan carefully and avoid travel to the affected areas if possible.

Heavy rainfall and flood warnings have also been issued for cities in the states of Texas, Arkansas, Missouri and Tennessee.

Traffic in some areas remains very difficult, with many roads closed. Emergency drainage work has begun. People with trips ahead are advised to check the current condition of roads before their travel.
