The development of industrial zones and the construction of the necessary infrastructure is a priority of the Ministry of Economy and Industry to attract new high-tech investments in Bulgaria, Minister Peter Dilov said here on Friday. He was speaking at a meeting with the new Executive Director of the National Company Industrial Zones (NCIZ) with the Economy Ministry, Angel Tanev.

They discussed the implementation of the industrial zones under NCIZ and an effective mechanism for attracting investment. "To be effective in attracting investors, we need to build zones with ready infrastructure," said Minister Dilov.

"What is important for us is that investors interested in Bulgaria choose a suitable location for their business and have the necessary conditions to start their production as quickly as possible," he said.

Tanev noted that the State-owned company will have a proactive policy to attract investments. In his words, negotiations are at an advanced stage with investors who intend to position themselves in the industrial zones in the sectors of automotive industry, food and construction industry, pharmaceuticals, production of high-tech products and equipment, warehousing and logistics. The expected investments in these projects amount to more than BGN 45 million, and the companies are Bulgarian as well as German, Spanish, Chinese and Turkish.
