site.btaFire Temporarily Shuts Down Sofia Iztok Heating Utility

On Tuesday afternoon a loud blast was heard in the area of a 110kV switchgear (outdoor switchgear) on the territory of the Sofia Iztok heating utility, which resulted in a fire. The fire affected a transformer and a line disconnector, which caused equipment to shut down, Toplofikacia Sofia said in response to an enquiry from BTA.  
  
Thanks to the timely response of the teams on duty, the fire was quickly contained. Fire fighting units responded to the scene, ready to provide assistance if necessary.  
  
No workers were injured in the incident. At 2.20 pm, the restoration of heat supply to the affected area began. The heating utility continues its normal operation and at the moment heat supply has been fully restored.
