Gabrovo, North Central Bulgaria, May 27 (BTA) - Approached by journalists here on Monday, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said that what comes after Sunday's European Parliament elections is "daily work, work and more work so that we can leave what we have done to the next generations."

Borissov was in Gabrovo to check the construction of the city's roundabout. He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov, Deputy Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov, Gabrovo Regional Governor Nevena Petkova, and Gabrovo Mayor Tanya Hristova.

Borissov thanked the voters for, in his words, taking the trouble to go to the ballot boxes and vote.

According to him, the election campaign involved personal insults and hate, and the election forecasts of some sociologists were false, but his GERB party defeated the leader of the European social-democrats in Bulgaria. Borissov said he did not take part in the election campaign but simply showed what has already been done, which is an important difference.

There is more to be done for Bulgarian expatriates, and it is in the area of education: to open more schools for Bulgarian children abroad, Borissov told journalists.

"Over the years, many politicians have said they will build a tunnel under Mt Shipka, but we [GERB] are doing it now: we are making a grand construction with tunnels, bridges, overhead roads, and this is what is important for me," Borissov also said.
