National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova conducted a roll-call check of the quorum on Thursday, which showed that 118 out of the total 240 MPs were present in the plenary hall. "There is no quorum," she announced and called off the parliamentary sitting.

After the session resumed following a 30-minute recess, MP Andrey Valchev of the BSP – United Left coalition requested another roll-call check. Meanwhile, some more MPs left the hall.

Before the break, during a quorum check requested by Vazrazhdane, 111 out of 240 MPs registered that they are present.

The sitting was adjourned while MPs were debating first-reading amendments to the Equality between Women and Men Act. Thursday’s agenda also included the adoption of procedural rules for nominating and electing the Governor and Deputy Governor of the National Social Security Institute, as well as members of the Supreme Judicial Council from the National Assembly's quota.
