Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov has ordered the regional governors to be in full and constant coordination with all local institutions in view of the snowfall and winter conditions, the Council of Ministers reported here on Monday.
The Prime Minister also demanded a 24-hour monitoring of the roads, as well as strict compliance with snow clearing and road maintenance. The aim is to ensure the timely response of the State and to secure the traffic on the roads in winter conditions.
Earlier in the day, Zhelyazkov ordered Interior Minister Daniel Mitov to conduct checks on compliance with the Road Traffic Act. Particular attention is paid to trucks with worn-out tyres, which impede traffic and pose risk for accidents. Traffic police is carrying out the checks across the country.
