site.btaShanghai Library Exhibition to Be Unveiled in Sofia

September 13 (BTA) - Shanghai Library's visiting
exhibition titled "Shanghai's Blooms" is opening at Sofia City
Library on September 19. The exhibition of old photos from the
Library's contemporary collection highlighting the last 200
years of Chinese history has been designed especially for Sofia
City Library. All photos are to be exhibited for the first time.

Shanghai has witnessed Chinese and Western cultural trends in
the last 200 years. A series of the most representative photos
capturing the various aspects of life in modern Shanghai between
 1840 and 1949 were selected from the Library's huge CNBKSY
database, Sofia City Library said.

The photos reveal the social changes in China over time. This
valuable historical material will help viewers understand and
learn about modern China, the library said./IG/BR
