Bulgaria’s Mirela Demireva was eliminated in the women's high jump qualification at the Paris Olympics. Finishing at a height of 1.88 metres, the Rio Olympic high jump vice-champion placed 19th in the final standings out of 32 athletes.

Demireva easily cleared the starting height of 1.83 metres. She then leaped over 1.88 metres on her second attempt, but three unsuccessful jumps at 1.92 metres brought an end to her run at the tournament.

This was the third Olympic appearance for the 34-year-old Bulgarian, who placed 12th at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics.
