site.btaGERB: CC-DB's Admission that They Cannot Offer Non-Partisan PM Is Only Update to Situation
GERB published a post on their Facebook page, according to which the party's position was announced as early as the night after the elections, which took place on October 27. According to GERB, the only change to the situation is an admission from Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) that they could not offer a prime minister who is equidistant from all political parties.
The Facebook post alleges that the opposite statement was a false one that CC-DB had been propagating throughout their election campaign.
On Tuesday, CC-DB Co-chair Kiril Petkov called for a "cordon sanitaire" (sanitary cordon) around the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) - New Beginning coalition chaired by Delyan Peevski. Petkov alleged that MRF - New Beginning could not have achieved as strong a result as they did (11.548% of the votes) without vote buying given Peevski's low public approval rating.
