Claudia Nicolae, Director General of the national news agency of Romania Agerpres, who spoke in BTA's press club here on Monday during the presentation of the latest issue of LIK magazine dedicated to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences' (BAS) 155th anniversary, said that it is important to have journalists cooperate with the scientific and academic communities to push science forward. Nicolae stressed the importance of having an institution as old and significant as BAS, especially in the current times of disinformation and fake news.
The head of Agerpres praised her counterpart from BTA, Kiril Valchev, as well as Martina Gancheva, BTA's correspondent in Bucharest, for their efforts to establish and run a press club in the Romanian capital. She was hopeful that her agency will also be able to establish a press club in Sofia.
