site.btaHead of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences: Romania Helped Bulgaria with Establishing Its First Institutions

Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) President Julian Revalski spoke via video call in BTA's press club here on Monday during the presentation of the latest issue of LIK magazine dedicated to BAS's 155th anniversary. Revalski expressed gratitude to the Romanian people for their hospitality and for having played a decisive role in the past when Bulgaria was seeking freedom and trying to establish the country's first institutions.

The scholar pointed out that BAS was among these institutions, as it was founded in the Romanian city of Braila.

"I would like to express my gratitude to BTA [Bulgarian News Agency] Director General Kiril Valchev and the entire team of the Agency for the October issue of the LIK magazine, dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the Bulgarian Literary Society, which was reorganized by law into the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in 1911," Revalski said. He praised BTA for paying attention to the achievements reached by Bulgarian scientists.

The President of BAS thanked BTA's team who composed the magazine, pointing out that it must have been a huge effort to create a complete picture both of the history of BAS and its current state.
