Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu arrived on Friday on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova. He is accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister Marian Nyaksu, Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism Štefan-Radu Oprea and by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Florin-Ionuț Barbu, the Romanian government press service reported.
Prime MinisterCiolacu said that he is going to Chisinau to confirm Romania's stable and unequivocal support for the Republic of Moldova at all levels. Romania remains the strong voice that supports the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, and continues the implementation of the EUR 100 million agreement that generates impact projects, and will accelerate interconnectedness in vital areas such as energy, infrastructure and transport, he said.
The programme of the official visit includes a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Dorin Recean. Ciolacu and Recean will also take part in a handover ceremony for school vans that the Romanian state is donating to the Republic of Moldova.
The Romanian Prime Minister will also have meetings with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and with the President of the Parliament of Moldova Igor Grossu.
On October 20, Moldova will hold both presidential elections and a referendum on the country's accession to the EU.
