Four Bulgarian MEPs will be part of the European Parliament's (EP) Delegation to the EU-North Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee, the EP said in a press release. Thirteen of the 48 interparliamentary delegations held their constituent meetings on Monday evening.

The Bulgarian representatives in the EU-North Macedonia delegation are Andrey Kovatchev (GERB/EPP), Kristian Vigenin (Bulgarian Socialist Party/S&D), Ivaylo Valchev (There Is Such a People/EPP), and Hristo Petrov (Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria/Renew Europe). The delegation consists of a total of 13 MEPs from the parliamentary groups of the European People's Party, the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, Patriots for Europe, European Conservatives and Reformists, Renew Europe, Greens/European Free Alliance, the Left in the European Parliament, and one independent.

The parliamentary delegations are expected to elect their leadership by October 8. The Chair and the first Vice-Chair of a delegation shall not be of the same gender. Gender balance shall also apply to the other members of the delegation’s leadership. It shall not be permissible for all of the members of the delegation's leadership to come from the same Member State.
