site.btaBSP - United Left Coalition Kicks Off Election Campaign in Sofia

Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) acting chair Atanas Zafirov urged Bulgarian citizens to "vote with emotion but also with reason" and opened the election campaign of the BSP -United Left Coalition on Saturday in Sofia. 

Zafirov noted that Bulgaria is witnessing an unprecedently low voter turnout. "We Bulgarians like to vote with emotion, we like to look for saviours in politics. This time, let us vote with reason for the people, the parties, the politicians, who in all these years have not betrayed their promises," Zafirov told the gathered audience. "Let's vote in such a way that we will never again allow shameful 'assemblages' to rule us," the BSP acting chair said.

In his words, the campaign programme includes everything - income, education, healthcare, fighting the demographic crisis, fighting corruption, ecology and economic development.

"I declare the path, the march, of the United Bulgarian Left to the governance of the state open," Zafirov said.

At the campaign's opening, the leaders of the lists in all multi- member constituencies and their biographies were presented.
