site.btaBorder Traffic Update
Outbound truck traffic is intense at some of the checkpoints on Bulgaria’s border with Romania, the Interior Ministry’s Border Police Directorate said on its website. The information is valid as at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.
There is busy traffic for trucks exiting this country through the Durankulak and Kardam checkpoints. Temporary traffic changes have been introduced across Danube Bridge at Ruse due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the bridge. Traffic is carried out in one lane and is regulated by traffic lights. Drivers can take alternative routes through the checkpoints at Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, or Krushari. The latter are opened from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day and are closed for commercial trucks.
Traffic is also normal at all checkpoints at the borders with Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia, Greece and Turkiye.
On 26 August, the implementation of activities under a contract for the construction of the EU Entry/Exit System started at the Gyueshevo border checkpoint, the Border Police Directorate said. Border control booths for trucks will be removed and replaced with new ones. Temporarily, the truck traffic will be redirected through the car routes. Traffic jams could be expected when crossing at the Gyuesevo border checkpoint.
