site.btaEconomy Minister, Argentinian Ambassador Discuss Advancing Economic Relations

Economy Minister Petko Nikolov and Argentinian Ambassador Alejandro Zothner Meyer on Friday discussed boosting economic relations between the two countries.

The two sides underscored that the level of trade does not match the existing potential and considered ways for improving trade cooperation. 

Minister Nikolov and Ambassador Meyer said that there are opportunities to deepen cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, energy, mechanical engineering, etc.

At the meeting it transpired that preparations have been launched for a meeting of a Bulgarian-Argentine commission for economic cooperation next year in Buenos Aires. They also discussed the possibilities of organizing a joint business forum to accompany the meeting in order to create new opportunities between the businesses of the two countries.

Minister Nikolov said that holding of a meeting of the bilateral commission for economic cooperation will contribute to improving trade relations and improve the development of economic ties between Bulgaria and Argentina.

For his part, Ambassador Meyer said that Bulgaria could become a hub for Argentine goods to Eastern Europe.
