site.btaPM Glavchev: North Macedonia's Rhetoric Would Not Help on Their Path to EU
Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev who spoke to reporters here on Friday said he does not believe that the rhetoric coming from the Republic of North Macedonia recently would help North Macedonia join the European Union.
Glavchev pointed out that Bulgaria is a predictable partner that is loyal to the EU, and supports the EU membership prospect of the Western Balkan countries.
The Prime Minister was adamant that Bulgaria has already agreed to enough compromises with its national identity and added that the Republic of North Macedonia must comply with EU requirements to become an EU member.
In the past week, the press service of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bulgarian politicians reacted to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport of the Republic of North Macedonia Aleksandar Nikoloski, who in a TV interview on Wednesday criticized the absence of the state flag of his country during the informal meeting between Radev and his counterpart of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.
