A divine liturgy was celebrated at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Church in Sofia’s Lagera residential quarter on Sunday on the occasion of the Feast of the Nativity of Our Most Holy Lady the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary.
The service was headed by Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil.
The liturgy was attended by Orthodox Christians, representatives of churches, and priests.
In his sermon, Patriarch Daniil spoke about the universe and nature. He said that God created man and men are meant to be those beings created in God's image and likeness, where the whole of the deity, all his wisdom, all his affection, love and goodness are poured out on the creation.
His Holiness noted that it is difficult for the human heart to find God’s peace and assess of how much of our time is filled with peace, with gratitude, with serenity even in sorrows. The human soul, heart and the whole man should be filled with God's peace and with joy, with glory, but this is not easy.
