Deputy Parliament Speaker Rositsa Kirova is paying an official visit to Mongolia at the invitation of Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh, Kirova's office told BTA on Tuesday.

The first day of Kirova's visit began with the laying of flowers at the monument to the Cyrillic alphabet in the capital Ulaanbaatar.

"My visit to Mongolia starts from a place that symbolizes the deep roots of spirituality that connects the Bulgarian and Mongolian people," Kirova told the students and teachers of the 118th school in Ulaanbaatar, where the monument commemorating the Cyrillic alphabet is erected. She talked to local government representatives and school principals from the area.

Kirova toured the school and saw a specially arranged exhibition with a Bulgarina theme. She was welcomed with a cultural programme, a traditional Mongolian breakfast, performances on string instruments and traditional dances.

Kirova is one of the keynote speakers at the World Women's Forum in Ulaanbaatar on August 22 and 23 under the auspices of the President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh.

On August 21, Kirova will have bilateral meetings with the Minister of Roads and Transport and the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry.
