site.btaVazrazhdane Tables Amendments to Scrap Paper Ballots

Vazrazhdane has tabled amendments to the Election Code to scrap paper ballots, remove numbers on ballots and screens of voting booth. The proposed amendments aim to limit as much as possible bought and controlled voting.

Under the proposed amendments up to 20 voting sections will be opened in up to 20 polling stations in EU countries outside Bulgari’s diplomatic and consular missions, only one application per IP address can be submitted via the Central Election Commission website and no voting applications can be submitted from Bulgaria via the website.

Vazrazhdane have also proposed changes to the criteria for electing members of the CEC, related to their managerial and professional experience and requiring political non-affiliations, with no party function or active political activity for a period of three years. 

At the start of the 51st National Assembly, MPs of Vazrazhdane said they would initiate comprehensive changes to the Election Code.
