The Sofia Appellate Court has released from custody Teodor Iliev on his own recognizance. On June 29, the Sofia City Prosecution Office charged and detained Iliev in connection with computer crimes, adding that he had presented himself online under the pseudonym "Emil Kyulev".

According to the prosecution there is enough evidence how Iliev leaked data from 35 companies and that he has a crypto wallet of USD 800,000.

The Sofia Appellate Court disagreed with this argument and released Iliev from custody. The jury expressed an opinion that computer crimes are not investigated and proven by testimony. This is done with expert evidence. It said there is not enough evidence that Iliev is a "Kyulev".
