In May, the average monthly contributory income stood at BGN 1,669.53, the National Statistical Institute said on Tuesday. 

The average monthly contributory income for the year spanning June 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024, was BGN 1,535.69.

The contributory income in the reporting month will determine the calculation of new retirement benefits amounts set for June 2024, as stipulated in Art. 70, Para. 3 of the Social Insurance Code.

In April the contributory income was BGN 1,639.
