The Cabinet will ask Parliament to approve an updated Roadmap to Climate Neutrality to Parliament, the Government Information Service said on Wednesday. The Roadmap was adopted by a Council of Ministers decision of 2023 and updated twice, in 2023 and 2024.

The update of the Roadmap was required by changes in the development of the country's 2030 energy strategy, with a horizon until 2025, that have taken place since its adoption in October 2023.

The investment intentions of some of the country's leading operators, which have been reflected in the Territorial Just Transition Plans approved by the European Commission, also necessitate the adjustment of the document.

All the activities in the energy sector that followed the adoption of the Roadmap require the alignment of the strategic documents in the sector. The Roadmap to Climate Neutrality is key to the implementation of the reforms set out in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
