Teya Nikolova set a new national record in the women's 50m breaststroke and advanced to the semi-finals of the event at the European Aquatics Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

Nikolova set the third fastest time in the series with 31.17 seconds, which improved her previous best of 31.53, which she set last year in Sofia.
Diana Petkova will also swim in the semi-finals after winning the freestyle against Czech Kristyna Horska.

Petkova gave an equal 18th time with Horska in the series, 31.94 seconds, and in the relay she set 31.78 seconds against Horska's 31.97.

Kaloyan Bratanov finished 23rd with a time of 22.45 seconds, failing to come close to his national record of 22.04 and the norm for the Paris Olympic Games of 21.96.
The other Bulgarian in the discipline, Daniel Nankov, finished 53rd with 22.97 seconds.

Kaloyan Levterov finished 20th with 56.08 seconds and is first reserve for Saturday eveningb's semi-finals.
