Bulgaria has its first representative on the Management Board of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
At its regular half-yearly meeting on June 6-7, 2024, the EASA Management Board elected Bulgarian Civil Aviation Administration Director General Anelia Marinova Deputy Chair of the Management Board for a four-year term, Bulgaria's Ministry of Transport and Communications said in a press release on Friday.
The Board is responsible for the definition of the Agency's priorities, the establishment of the budget and for monitoring the Agency's operation.
Caretaker Transport and Communications Minister Georgi Gvozdeykov described the election of the first Bulgarian representative to Europe's most influential aviation safety authority as a recognition for both Bulgaria and the professionalism of Bulgaria's civil aviation administration. The Minister is convinced that Bulgaria will contribute to the development of the civil aviation sector in Europe which takes up more than a quarter of the world's air industry.
