site.btaEducation Minister Tzokov, School Directors Discuss Education System Issues

Addressing a meeting that gathered more than 500 school directors and deputy directors from across Bulgaria on Tuesday, caretaker Education and Science Minister Galin Tzokov said that Bulgaria has had one of the best education systems in the past and together they can bring it back to a high level again, the Education Ministry said in a press release.

The meeting was chaired by Diyan Stamatov, Chairperson of the Union of Managers in the Public Education System. The event aimed to discuss current issues and priorities facing the education system.

Tzokov said that renovations are being started in more than 100 schools and kindergartens across the country. He stressed that some BGN 0.5 billion had been secured for investment in the facilities of educational institutions in 2024, but severalfold amount is needed to modernise all buildings. It is also important to make education a national priority and to make all political parties embrace this priority, the minister underscored.
