North Macedonia's State Election Commission has made public its decision declaring the final results of the parliamentary elections in that country, which took place on May 8 and were revoted in seven constituencies on May 22.

The announcement came after the Administrative Court dismissed an appeal by the European Front against the revote in the Larce Village, Zelino Municipality. This practically changed the allocation of legislative seats, shifting one from the European Front to the coalition of Albanian opposition parties called VLEN (Worth).

The State Election Commission said at a news conference that Adnan Azizi will enter parliament in lieu of Bilal Kasami, Chair of the Besa Movement Party (part of VLEN), who renounced his seat and will keep his position as mayor of Tetovo.

At the inaugural sitting of the legislature, which was held on May 28, the credentials of 118 members of the 12-seat Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia were verified because the appeal before the Administrative Court was still pending.

Afrim Gashi of VLEN was elected President of the Assembly. He said the oath of office first in Albania, invoking reactions from the Left and the Minister of Culture (who is from the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM), who argued that this violates the Constitution.
